Policies ¨ Rehearsals are MANDATORY! If a dancer misses a rehearsal they may be pulled from a piece. This is determined at choreographers discretion. Attendance at all competitions, performances and events is MANADTORY! As much notice as possible will be given as to dates and times, but last minute things arise and dancer and their families need to be ready and flexible. ¨ Family emergencies and illness are the only excused absences. DO NOT address a teacher, director or choreographer in studio to discuss you child's need to be excused from a rehearsal! Please communicate all matters PRIVATELY! ¨ Placement and artistic decisions are at choreographers and directors discretion and are finale! What is best for the overall success of the dance and all performers involved is top priority. Dancers will not be guaranteed equal numbers of pieces. ¨ This is not a recreational activity. Trinity Dance is for more intense, focused and serious dancers. The goal is to strive for excellence in dance and performance. Excellent attendance in regular classes is also required. ¨ All Company members are required to take a minimum of 2 Technique Classes. One Ballet and the 2nd can be Ballet, Modern, or Contemporary and 1 Jazz Class a week. ¨ Members must be dedicated to attending all classes and rehearsals during the season. A strict absentee policy will be enforced. Dancers, who miss pre performance rehearsal, may not be permitted to perform. This decision is the sole discretion of the Company director and or Choreographer and will be made on an individual basis. In the case of injury, a dancer will be placed back into the performance rotation when they are 100% healed. Directors and Choreographers will have final say in readiness to perform. Just because a dancer is healed and feeling better, doesn’t mean they are ready to jump back into dances. They will need to refine and rebuild strength, technique and performance skill lost during off time. ¨ Members can not be in a performance capacity with any other dance troupe or performance company without prior written approval. (Participation in school related groups is excluded from this policy as long as scheduling does not present a problem.) ¨ Dancers, and parents of dancers, must maintain appropriate behavior, good sportsmanship, and a positive attitude. Anything less will be grounds for dismissal from the company. Complete support and encouragement for all members and performance groups is expected. All dancers and families represent Trinity Dance and Medina Centre for Dance Art. You represent us everywhere and in everything, not just when you wear the purple warm ups and dance. Inappropriate conduct, gossip, bad mouthing (about dancers, choreographers, studio staff etc) negative attitudes, and poor behavior, will be grounds for discipline (i.e. dancers may be asked to sit out a performance) or removal from the company. Rehearsals Each piece will rehearse separately through out the early fall. Then combined rehearsal will start in November. Depending on the group and chorographers availability rehearsal will be schedule sometime Friday afternoon/evenings and Saturday afternoons. Occasionally we may have to schedule on a Sunday afternoon.
