This year MCDA is presenting “The Magic Toy Shoppe” This is an opportunity for dancers to participate in a story style dance performance. Though it’s primary focus is for ballet students, this years production will have several roles for, tap, jazz/hip-hop, and modern students. Auditions will be August 28th starting at 9:00. · This audition will be very low stress. The main goal is to simply introduce dancers to the audition process. · All dancers auditioning will receive a role. No registered MCDA dancer that auditions will be cut. · Dancers under the age of ten are not auditioning for specific roles. Roles for this age group will be given based on the classes the dancer is enrolled in, their abilities, and role requests. · Dancers should come dressed for the part they wish to audition for. Neat dance wear is appropriate, including leotard, tights rolled down into shoes and HAIR SECURED IN A BUN OR BRAID. Keep extra clothing limited; the judges must be able to see the dancer’s body. Dancers wishing to audition for a tap or jazz role should have these shoes prepared as they enter the audition.

AUDITION APPLICATION
Performance Dates are scheduled for :
December 11, 201 0 @ 7:00 p.m. and December 12, 2010 @ 2:00 p.m.
Performance will be held at Broadway Street Hall.
Tech and Dress Rehearsals will be December 7-10 - times TBA
Pictures will be December 5 and / or 6th - times TBA
Some of the rehearsal for this performance can be held during regular class time, many of the principal roles corps parts will need to rehearse on and extra day. Time the studio has set aside for these rehearsal are—Friday 4-7, Saturday 3:30– 5:30 and Sunday 1-5. Details for which groups, at which time, for how long will be available September 18th and rehearsal will start October 1st, 2010. Check the web site for details.
Fees (Rehearsal Time, Costume Rental etc) are as follows:
Preschool, Kinder Combo $50.00
Students ages 8 + with 1 role $60.00
With 2 roles $90.00
With 3 roles $120.00
